Shetland Charitable Trust’s finance chief Jeff Goddard is moving on after more than a decade with the £200 million charity.

Mr Goddard’s request for voluntary redundancy has been accepted by trustees, and he will finish work at the trust on 3rd September.

SCT chairman Bobby Hunter said: “On behalf of trustees past and present I’d like to thank Jeff for his contribution to the work of the trust. We wish him well for the future.”

Kent-raised Mr Goddard sold beer to the House of Commons, Buckingham Palace and the Stock Exchange for the company Bass Brewery after graduating in London.

Having qualified as a chartered accountant, he joined the SIC’s finance department in 1994 before moving full-time to the charitable trust as financial controller in April 2003.

Mr Goddard was also temporarily in charge of the trust prior to the appointment of current general manager Ann Black.

Mr Goddard is also the chairman of Hjaltland Housing Association’s management committee and treasurer of the Shetland Islands Credit Union, posts he holds on a voluntary basis.
