Whitedale win again but other matches end in draws

Friday’s senior football matches in the G&S Flooring Premier League resulted in draws between Delting and Whalsay and Scalloway and Celtic, while Whitedale defeated Thistle to retain their slim chances of the title.

G&S Flooring Premier League

Delting 2, Whalsay 2
Lee Irvine put Whalsay ahead only for Fraser Hall to equalise. Merv Jamieson gave the Delts the lead in the second half but Ross Irvine made it two each before the end.

Scalloway 2, Celtic 2
Alan Davidson and Aaron Leask got Scalloway’s goals but counters by Celtic’s James Aitken and Jordan Simpson meant the points were shared.

Whitedale 4, Thistle 2
The Wastside side went four up with goals from Cameron Gibbs, Richard Sinclair, Lorne McNiven and Dave Mckenzie. Calvin Leask and Stuart Smith pulled goals back for the Jags.

ESS Bloomfield Cup  (semi-finals)

Whalsay B 4, Ness United A/B 3
Lee Irvine and John Hamilton got a brace each for Whalsay while Danny Finnie got two himself and Nethan Watson got the other for Ness.

Petrofac v Celtic B
Petrofac progress to the final as Celtic B were unable to field a team.
