Anderson is voted Shetland footballer of the year
Whitedale midfielder Duncan Anderson was announced as senior player of the year at Shetland Football Association’s annual end-of-season awards dinner at the Shetland Hotel on Saturday.
The evening included some amusing anecdotes from the guest speaker, former top grade Scottish referee Kenny Clark, before the presentation ceremony.
Anderson won the player-of-the-year trophy after receiving the most votes from the SFA committee and G&S Flooring Premier League managers. He was closely followed by fellow Whitedale player Duncan Fraser and Thistle’s Calvin Leask, who have also both had fine seasons.
The top scorer trophy was presented jointly to Jordan Webb (Spurs) and Richard Sinclair (Whitedale), who both got 20 goals in league and cup competitions. Jamie Wilson (Whitedale) came third with 19 goals.

Well done to all the Whitedale players who won awards at the end of season dinner. It rounds off a remarkable season for the team – well done to the management and all players involved. Keep up the good work!

A well deserved award. Shocking that he wasn’t in the Shetland side.
