Crewman airlifted from standby boat
A coastguard rescue helicopter was scrambled from Sumburgh Airport last night to airlift an injured crewman from an oil standby vessel at the Clair Field about 60 miles north-west of Lerwick.
The crewman had suffered chest injuries aboard the 81m long Caledonian Vigilance, which alerted coastguards at 11.45pm.
The helicopter RH 102 was on scene at 1.30am and flew back to Sumburgh with the casualty by 2.30am, who was then taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital by ambulance.
