Norröna passenger airlifted to hospital

A passenger aboard the Scandinavian ferry Norröna had to be airlifted to hospital after being taken ill on the vessel this morning.

Shetland Coastguard were called at 11.40am to the ferry which was about 40 nautical miles northwest of Muckle Flugga.

The helicopter arrived at the Clickimin landing site at 1.30pm and the man was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital.
