Man charged with several offences

A man who allegedly committed a string of offences in Unst on Friday night appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.

James Tanti, 23, of Brakefield Crescent, Haroldswick, Unst, is charged with stealing a mobile from an address in Uyeasound and shouting, swearing and banging on doors and windows at the property. He is also charged with taking and driving away a car without consent and driving on East Road, Uyeasound, without insurance.

The case was continued without plea and honorary sheriff Sandy Cluness released Tanti on bail.

He will appear in court again next week.
