Two accused of knife crimes
Two people appeared have appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court charged with knife crimes.
Marvin Inkster, 34, of Burra, was released on bail after a private appearance before honorary sheriff Arnold Duncan.
He was accused of assault and having a lock-knife. Inkster made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination.
In a separate case held in open court, Ayesha Meades, 19, of Lerwick’s Ladies Drive was charged with having a knife in public and brandishing it at three people on Saturday at the town’s Hoofields, and threatening to stab them.
Her case was continued without plea until 2nd September.
She also was released on bail, but was ordered to abide by special conditions in the meantime.
