Strictly comes to the Clickimin for spectacular fundraiser
The Clickimin will be transformed into a sea of sequins, glitter, satin and high heels when the curtain rises on Strictly Hearty Dancing on 28th November.
The spectacular dancing show is being staged by the Shetland branch of British Heart Foundation Scotland.
Seven couples will trade steps on the dance floor for Shetland’s equivalent of the Glitterball trophy.
And organisers hope the event will raise at least £15,000 for the nation’s heart charity, helping fund lifesaving research.
It is a family show with a maximum sale of eight per person.
Branch chairwoman Diane Watt said: “We expect tickets to go really fast so be sure to buy them early to be guaranteed your seat for our Strictly showstopper.
“Our couples, experienced local ballroom dancers paired with complete novices, have been practising for a couple of months now, so this event promises to both spectacular and entertaining.
“We’re really grateful to have live music from the Alan Nicolson Orchestra, and have some other exciting acts lined up too.”
Diane Legget and her panel of judges will critique each performance but who gets to dance their way to become StrictlyHearty Dancing winners is down to the audience, who get to vote for their favourites by donating in the currency of £1 coins.
Folk can get a Strictly Hearty Dancing preview and a peep behind the scenes at a corporate event hosted by Burdolff Hotels and sponsored by DITT Construction on the evening of 20th November. There will be entertainment, chat with dancers, trainers and organisers, a raffle and auction.
