Having worked briefly at the airport and seen at first hand the outstanding job that the Loganair folks do there under very difficult and trying times when the weather plays havoc or the planes get sick, a little bit of support, patience and understanding should be shown.
As for Loganair, the company, they need a real kicking, I accept that they need to make a profit so that they can continue to invest in their business but they should face up to the fact that they have a duty to the people they serve to provide a safe and efficient service even if it does impact on their profit. Over the new year they had a SAAB 2000 parked up for days, no doubt because it was sick and they couldn’t make it better. Every day that aircraft was on the ground, fare paying passengers, somewhere, where being messed around. I seem to remember that recently they claimed a 77% “on time” success rate, which basically means almost a quarter of their scheduled flights were not. – Why?
