Glorious sun blesses Bressay Jarl’s Squad
The sun shone down brightly for this year’s Bressay jarl Gary Thomson and his squad with truly exceptional still conditions.
The 12-strong squad, plus two children, spent the day in and around the isle visiting the hall, the Bill at the pier, the former school for lunch and the sheltered housing in the afternoon.
There was much good humour and hilarity as the squad got ready for their big night.
The galley was named Illrskegg, “bad beard” a reference to the Jarl’s struggle to grow facial hair.
It was to be another superb night for the burning.
