Police investigate alleged assault at Lochside in Lerwick
The police are looking for witnesses following an alleged assault yesterday evening in Lerwick.
The incident, involving three or four men, was said to have taken place at the toilets on North Lochside between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
According to the police one of the suspects was described as white, aged between 16 and 18, approximately five foot 11 inches tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black hooded top, which was over his head at the time, and dark tracksuit bottoms.
If anyone has information relating to the incident they are asked to contact Lerwick Police Station on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or alternatively attend the station.
Meanwhile, in relation to reports yesterday of a suspicious person in the vicinity of the Royal Bank of Scotland on Commercial Street, Lerwick, the police said the matter had been resolved and was no longer deemed to be suspicious.
The police said they wanted to thank the public for their assistance in the matter.
