WATCH: FestiYell pulls in the visitors
FestiYell, Yell’s first creative-based festival, is in full swing with a busy day of events today.
A pop-up drama performance, basket making sessions and a sand sculpture competition are among the activities taking place on the final day of festivities.
The pop-up drama event includes not only Yell members but also that of the Rona Theatre Group.
As well as all this there are arts exhibitions throughout the island and the Cullivoe Up-Helly-A’ display too.
The weekend got off to a fantastic start with a variety concert showcasing Yell’s’ musical talent in the Mid Yell Hall.
Folk were raving about the quality diversity of the musical acts that performed.
Yell folk have been commenting that they feel like they are somewhere on holiday, not just resident in their island.
The appearance of the September sun has helped people the ‘feel good’ factor.
Plenty of visitors have made the trip north including people from mainland UK, Ireland and Canada and happy punters are already asking about FestiYell 2017 and if it is going to be bigger and longer.
