Mind Your Head releases third mental health film
The charity Mind Your Head has released the third film in a series aimed at raising awareness of men’s mental health.
In the latest film local Robert’s Story issues explored include the impact of becoming a father, being a role model and the importance of that role.
Robert has not suffered from mental ill health but has known people who have experienced problems, some of whom are no longer around due to their illness.
He also discusses the “Grubby Hut” sessions that Mind Your Head have been holding over the last 12 months. He talks about the Grubby Hutt session had among his staff team and what he, as a manager, got out of a session held a few months ago.
Anouska Civico of Mind Your Head said: “This is the final film to be launched and it was appropriate to end it with this one highlighting the work of the Grubby Hut.
“We have been overwhelmed with the positive response among men during and after the sessions. All three of the men that have been filmed I met as part of the Grubby Hut sessions.
“I am so proud and humbled that they agreed to do this as a way of helping others. The response among Shetland folk has been nothing but praise for these men. And I really hope that they have helped someone in the isles feel comfortable to share their story.”
The film was produced and directed by Dave Donaldson. It follows Laurence’s Story and Ben’s Story, released earlier in the year.
