The road has been closed between Bigton and Channerwick after a 42-seater bus left the road.
Police said the B9122 had been closed off in both directions because the bus had sunk into grass banking on the single track road.
The call was received at about 1pm and officers are looking at ways to lift the vehicle out of the ditch.
