Police are investigating reports of careless driving believed to have happened at around 2pm on Tuesday.
The incident took place on the A970 near the Dale golf course, and involved a black motorcycle and a silver or grey Vauxhall.
Any person who may have seen the incident, or knows anyone who was in the area, is being encouraged to contact Lerwick Police station on 101.
