More Covid cases to add to weekend tally

Eight new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Shetland following six over the weekend as revealed in the latest NHS Scotland figures.

The seven day rolling total for Shetland cases is 71.

NHS Shetland public health director Susan Laidlaw said most cases continued to be household or very close contacts of existing cases.

She recommended that everyone aged 12 and over do two LFT tests a week.

Across Scotland 4,241 new cases were confirmed today, Monday, 13th September, although the Scottish government caveat the total by saying that due to IT issues, the figures reported today are likely to be an underestimate of the total cases.

All affected data will be included in tomorrow’s reports.

There were no Covid related deaths, while 90 people remained in intensive care and 1,048 people were in hospital with Covid-19.
