More teachers strikes approved by unions

Most schools will be closed again for pupils next week after two days of strikes were announced by teachers unions.
Teachers unions the Education Institute for Scotland (EIS), the Scottish Secondary Teachers Association (SSTA) and the NASUWT have voted to undertake industrial action on Tuesday, 28th February and Wednesday, 1st March.
All primary schools, with the exception of five, will be affected by strike action, with all secondary schools closed.
Cullivoe, Fair Isle, Foula, North Roe and Skeld primary schools will remain open next Tuesday. North Roe will, however, close the following day.
All other education and childcare setting will be closed.

No-one who has been on strike, or who has had to organise a strike, is under any illusion about how difficult it is. The Shetland teachers have done very very well. Bravo!

Shame about the children. Clearly, the teachers care more about income, some pseudo professions that is. Only a socialist would say “Bravo” when children suffer due to politically motivated and selfish self seekers! enough said, well done Brian.

The average Teacher salary in Scotland is £34,893. This is 14.6% more than the average national salary for Teacher jobs. Not bad when you take school holidays, a guaranteed pension, and job security into account.
