Crew only training, fire service says

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service engine.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has said drivers are carrying out training this afternoon (Monday).

A number of fire engines were spotted in the Gremista area of Lerwick after 2pm, with their blue lights flashing and sirens blaring.

However, SFRS confirmed there was no emergency at the time and wanted to reassure the public that drivers are only training.

Training is due to take place throughout this week – including Wednesday and Thursday night – with a number of personnel taking part in blue light courses.
