Although I love Shetlands Norse connections, surely Shetlands Pictish connections are far more important. It ties the islands to the rest of Pictish Scotland, a history that long predates the Norse history. The people of Shetland are still to this day more Celtic than any other race. So let’s be proud of our Pictish past.
