Film workshop
SCOTTISH film and TV director Douglas Mackinnon will lead a special workshop at 11am tomorrow in Islesburgh Community Centre as part of Screenplay 2008, Shetland’s second annual film festival.
Mackinnon who directed The Flying Scotsman, which was shown at last year’s festival, and Dr Who and the Sontaran Stratagem, which is screening at this year’s festival, will be leading a discussion of a new screenplay of the Alan Spence novel Way to Go, which he is currently preparing for shooting.
This is an opportunity for anyone who is interested in the process of taking an existing piece of literature and turning it into a film. It is also a chance to gain an insight into the work of one of the UK’s leading film and television directors and to talk about film making with him face to face.
Tickets for the workshop, which is free, are available from Islesburgh on (01595) 692114.
