Caithness country band to pay visit

Shetland Country Music Club continues this month with a visiting band from Caithness by the name of Slange Ava. They have been together for about 18 months and play throughout the Caithness and Highlands areas.

The band member who is best known to the Shetland audience is Keith Mcleod, who features on lead guitar, mandolin and vocals. When not playing with Slange Ava, Keith teams up with the popular Manson Grant and the Dynamos. Jim Davidson on bass, Chris Mcintosh – rythym guitar/keyboard – and Donny Matheson, formerly with the well known Colorado, on drums and vocals make up the band. They are very experienced and well travelled musicians.

The band do a wide range of old and new country with a little 60s and Scottish thrown in. While in Shetland they will play two nights.

On Friday 17th April they will be in the Garrison Theatre. Special guests with them that night will be Arthur Pottinger, May Mackie and Rhonda so that will be a show not to be missed.

Tickets for the Theatre are now on sale at the Isleburgh Box Office priced at £5 and they can be picked up personally or by phone using a debit or credit card, by calling (01595) 692114.

On Saturday 18th april the band will perform in the Royal British Legion Club in Lerwick. Their special guest that evening will be Arthur Pottinger. Tickets are available at £5 from the Legion.
