Johnsmas website up and running
The Johnsmas Foy website, detailing the background to the festival and the full calendar of events that go to make up this year’s programme, is now up and running.
Each year the foy is centred around a specific Shetland related theme and this year the theme is “Shetland’s Place in the Viking World”, with a number of diverse events delivered as part of the foy to celebrate and promote that.
They include music, academic, maritime, sporting and community events – which in turn incorporate concerts, workshops, exhibitions, talks, guided walks, films, Viking re-enactments and a Viking feast. A number of the other events will also have a distinct Viking-related flavour.
The website also contains full details of how and where to access the events, where to get tickets (although many are free) and contact details should anyone require further information.
Additionally, there will be a special supplement detailing all the Johnsmas Foy events, and those participating in them, in The Shetland Times on 5th June and the official foy brochure will also be available as an insert in paper on 12th June.
Copies of the brochure can also be obtained from local shops and the local tourist office from this date.
