Councillors to seek new chief executive with £97,000 salary
Councillors are to be asked to approve a salary of £97,000 for the SIC’s next chief executive as the process gets under way to replace the outgoing Morgan Goodlad.
Mr Goodlad announced earlier this month that he is to leave in May after 10 years as the council’s leading official.
At Wednesday’s Full Council, councillors will consider setting up a selection panel which would comprise convener Sandy Cluness, vice convener Josie Simpson and the chairmen and vice chairmen of the infrastructure and services committees, to draw up a shortlist and conduct in-depth interviews.
The final appointment would be subject to the approval of the Full Council.
It is estimated that the process will cost in excess of £20,000 by the time an external consultant is appointed to “define the role, competencies and performance objectives” and advertising are factored in.
The post will be advertised nationally.
