Feed the birds day for RSPB
SATURDAY 25th October is Feed the Birds Day and the RSPB is urging people to think about the different ways they can help wildlife in their gardens.
The charity is inviting people to sign-up to its Homes for Wildlife project in the hope of inspiring them to make a real difference to the wildlife that share the open spaces closest to us.
Helen Moncrieff, RSPB’s South Shetland warden, said: “You really don’t need to be an expert to take part in Homes for Wildlife and you can do as little or as much as you have time for. Just providing a little food, water and shelter can really help birds and turn your garden into a wildlife haven for you to enjoy.”
The RSPB is producing an extensive Homes for Wildlife information pack full of simple advice and recommendations for each and every garden. Everybody registering to take part in the Homes for Wildlife project will receive one of these packs either electronically or in hard copy.
To help you find out more about the birds in your garden, the RSPB will be at The Plantiecrub Garden Shop, Toll Clock Shopping Centre, on Saturday 25th October between 10am and 5pm when the Plantiecrub will be offering a 10 per cent discount on all bird care products.
