Hunt on for perfect pub for Between Weathers movie
The director of Between Weathers, the film being shot in Shetland next spring, is looking for the perfect pub to feature in the movie.
Jim Brown wants local people to nominate a hostelry they feel is deserving of a starring role in the film, described as a “modern day David and Goliath story” where a disappearing way of life is fought for tooth and nail against a corporate giant unable to see beyond the dollar signs.
Mr Brown said: “I’m looking for a bar with a strong identity. Somewhere that’s been around for years, just like the characters that drink in it. We all know how famous the Pennan Inn became in Local Hero. Here’s a chance for the same thing to happen in Shetland.
“All you have to do is email us at locations@betweenweathers.com and nominate your local. Feel free to include a couple of photographs and make sure you let us know exactly where it is. Our only criteria is that the pub must be on the Shetland Isles.”
Mr Brown plans to check out venues on his next scouting trip and will then select the three most suitable locations that will be visited by the production team before the ultimate choice is made.
The deadline for nominations is Friday 8th October.
