Whitedale won senior football’s County Shield final on Saturday at Gilbertson Park, beating Celtic 6-3 after extra time.

The match finished all square after 90 minutes, with the West Side team proving the fitter in the extended period, going 6-2 up before scoring an own goal.

The result means this season’s knockout trophies have all gone to different sides, with the Madrid, Manson and Fraser Cups having earlier been claimed by Lerwick sides Celtic, Spurs and Thistle.

Meanwhile if Whalsay can take at least a point at home to Scalloway tonight they will win the G&S Flooring Premier League for the third year in a row, and become the fifth team to secure one of the 2011 trophies.
