Bad weather forecast means NorthLink ferries will sail earlier
Bad weather forecast for the next few days has forced NorthLink Ferries to make changes to its weekend timetable.
The Hrossey is scheduled to leave Aberdeen at 5pm instead of 7pm tonight, sailing for Kirkwall only. The final leg of the northbound voyage to Lerwick has been cancelled to help maintain passenger safety and comfort.
Meanwhile the southbound ferry has been rescheduled. Instead of leaving Lerwick at 7pm as originally planned the Hjaltland will instead sail at 5pm. Passenger and car check-in opens at 3pm, with final check-in at 4.30pm.
On the Pentland Firth the Hamnavoe will operate to schedule today, but minor delays are possible.
The southbound sailing of the freight boat Hildasay has been cancelled, while the northbound sailing of the Helliar has also been called off.
