Man, 23, hurt near Lerwick Boating Club

Police are investigating an incident in Lerwick in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 23-year-old man was found injured on South Commercial Street between the Queen’s Hotel and Lerwick Boating Club. He was taken to hospital for treatment but was later discharged.

Northern Constabulary appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 1am and 2am.

A spokesman said: “Between 1am and 2am on Saturday morning 3rd December 2011, an incident occurred on South Commercial Street, Lerwick between the Queens Hotel and Lerwick Boating Club whereby a 23-year-old man received an injury which resulted in hospital treatment.

“Anyone who may have witnessed or heard any form of disturbance in this area of Commercial Street is requested to contact the police.”
