Native Shetland Lamb shortlisted for food award

Native Shetland Lamb has been shortlisted in the prestigious Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards 2012 in the “New Product Marketing category”.

The winners will be unveiled at the awards ceremony at the Dunblane Hydro Hotel by Doubletree Hilton on Thursday 24th May.

Following a written submission and tasting, Native Shetland Lamb received confirmation that it had successfully made the shortlist. The New Product Marketing Award will be presented to the company that has demonstrated the most creative and innovative approach to its product or brand development and the most effective and robust marketing campaign.

Shetland Livestock Marketing Group chairman Ronnie Eunson said: “To coincide with the opening of the new abattoir, we have been working on a number of marketing initiatives including developing and implementing a marketing strategy for Native Shetland Lamb which positions it as a high end, premium and fairly exclusive product.

“We are very pleased to be shortlisted for this award, which is a great achievement and truly underpins the success of the work we have done to date. A win would, of course, create wider recognition and help drive sales at the premium end of the market.”
