Spurs retain league title with hard-fought victory over Lerwick rivals Thistle

Spurs claimed senior football’s G&S Flooring Premier League last night after defeating Thistle 5-3. Whitedale had a hard-fought win over Scalloway but it wasn’t enough as Spurs made it two championships in a row.

G&S Flooring Premier League

Celtic 2, Whitedale 3
A Lorne McNiven penalty in the final seconds gave the away side the points. James Aitken and Lowrie Simpson scored for Celtic while Haldane Fraser and Ross Smith had scored earlier for Whitedale.

Spurs 5, Thistle 3
Calvin Leask had got a hat trick for the Jags but goals from Jordan Webb, Lewis Kay, Dominic Mann and Sam Ward gave Spurs the points they needed to secure their secind league win in a row.
