Heads stuck in minutiae (Alan W Skinner)
Every time I read any report about debate within Shetland Islands Council or Shetland Charitable Trust, it seems clear to me that our representatives cannot see the wood for the trees, and have their heads stuck in the minutiae of cost cutting, but from their own entrenched positions.
In my view, we risk destroying much of what makes Shetland so special, unless we take our heads out of the sand and discuss a vision of what is important for Shetland, and a strategy for retaining it, within agreed budget constraints.

I agree with Alan.
It has to be said though that our councillors wouldn’t recognise a vision if they saw one!
