Frustrating defeat for rugby team against league leaders

The Shetland Rugby team slipped to a disappointing defeat against league leaders Garioch at the Clickimin pitch yesterday.

Two second half tries from Harry Morton and Shetland captain Craig Mann were converted by scrum half Jon Pulley, but that was not enough as Garioch ran out 20-14 winners.

The visitors were helped by being gifted two soft tries and club spokesman Bryan Leask said he had not been so disappointed with a result as he was with yesterday’s.

Shetland came close and had plenty of opportunities but were unable to convert the chances into points meaning it was a case of  “so close and yet so far”.
