Scottish football legends Frank McAvennie, Alan Rough and Andy Goram paid a visit to Lerwick British Legion yesterday as part of Petrofac’s charity sports dinner.

The trio were also joined by comedian Joe Camay and gave after-dinner speeches about their life on and off the pitch.

Ex-Rangers keeper Goram and fellow goalkeeper Rough have visited Shetland previously, with Goram taking part in a Rangers night.

Pals “The goalie” Goram and “Macca” are both remembered for their success with the Old Firm and have been working together giving after-dinner talks.

“I’ve actually got distant family from my dad’s side who I met last time I was here,” Goram said.  “It’s good for them [the audience] because there’s a good mixture of Celtic and Rangers.”

The night was to raise money for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent, Disability Shetland and Shetland Junior Inter-County Association.
