Dim Riv drifts ashore in Bressay
The replica Viking longship Dim Riv broke her moorings last night and drifted over to Bressay, where she became stuck high on rocks near Gardie House.
The wooden vessel is normally anchored near the Queens Hotel at Lerwick’s south end, and is run by volunteers who take tourists out on trips during the summer.
All crew members are mystified as to how the Dim Riv could have broken her chain and drifted, given that the winds overnight were not particularly strong.
Damage to the vessel has yet to be assessed, but is not thought to be serious. It is hoped that she will be recovered at high tide, between 1pm and 2pm.

Good to hear that checks found no serious damage. One good thing to come out it is a bit of publicity.
My wife & I have been out on the Rim Div & I purchased a T shirt. The trip made a very pleasant & interesting hour or so.
Do the trips still normally run on a Wednesday evening ?
