Sick crewman airlifted

A sick crewman has been airlifted from a cargo ship and taken to hospital in Lerwick.

The Sumburgh-based coastguard was scrambled after the man was taken ill onboard the 86-metre Highland Prestige as she sailed 60 miles south south-east of Sumburgh.

The man was taken to the emergency landing site at Clickimin before a “straightforward transfer” was carried out to the Gilbert Bain.
