Ice skip challenge

The Lerwick Co-op staff are holding a big ice skip challenge for charity on Wednesday, 3rd September between 5pm and 6.30 pm.

Spokeswoman for the store Esther Jeromson said: “We were doing the usual ice bucket challenge at first, then we decided to go one step further. Northwards are kindly donating a skip for our use which we are going to fill with water, and LHD are kindly donating the ice to go into the skip.” People will be sponsored to jump into the icy water.

Ms Jeromson added: “We are doing this to raise money for CHAS,  (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland), a really good Scottish charity, and we are hoping that we can raise as much as possible. Taking part will be staff from the Co-op and Peacocks, and we are trying to drum up as much support and publicity for this as possible it is sure to be a really good event.”
