Man breaches bail a day after prison release

A man has been remanded in custody after he admitted breaching special bail conditions a day after being released from prison for a similar offence.

Trevor Couper, 21, of Lerwick’s Cairnfield Road breached a condition on Saturday aimed at preventing him from approaching his former partner. He also admitted breaching an order not to be under the influence of alcohol in public.

Furthermore, the trainee electrician pleaded guilty to breaching the peace in Cairnfield Road on 19th July when he appeared from the cells.

Couper was previously sentenced to 13 weeks after he entered his partner’s home in Lerwick’s Sandveien uninvited – after having been warned by the court not to go there. The new offence happened just a day after Couper was released early from custody.

He will appear for sentence on 16th October.
