North Boat to leave two hours earlier tonight

Serco NorthLink is warning of ferry delays on its Northern Isles services due to windy weather.

Today’s southbound sailing of the Hjaltland is expected to leave Lerwick at 5pm, two hours earlier than scheduled, with an estimated arrival time in Aberdeen of around 10am tomorrow.

The Hrossey is expected to leave Aberdeen at 5pm as normal, but NorthLink said her arrival at Kirkwall may be delayed by up to two hours, with a possible subsequent delay in arrival at Lerwick tomorrow.

Meanwhile tomorrow’s sailing of the Hrossey to Kirkwall and Aberdeen, scheduled for 5.30pm, could be subject to a delayed departure of between one and four hours, NorthLink said.

The freight service provided by the Hildasay and the Arrow, currently standing in for the drydocked Helliar, are also likely to be affected by delays or cancellations.
