Can’t wait for next trip

We at The Reel in Orkney would like to thank all the Shetland musicians who recently came sooth for a weekend of music-making and fun.
On the weekend of 26th to 30th March a group of 15 Shetlanders came and entertained audiences in Kirkwall and Stronsay with fantastic nights of music.

These players included: The Husquoy Collection (Michele Fogg and Tom Deyell, Christine and Tommy Hughson, Jenny Henry and Hamish Henderson); Anya Johnston and Emma Leask (with parents Iain Johnston and Melvin and Pat Leask); Loris Macdonald; and finally Eart Kyent (John Johnson and brothers Tom, Colin and John Robert Deyell) who, as their name implies, are well known everywhere including in Orkney over the past 30 years with frequent visits here.

On behalf of all the Orcadians who thoroughly enjoyed their good company and great music we wish to thank them wholeheartedly for their visit.

These shared experiences continue to bind Orcadians and Shetlanders together in friendship and camaraderie. May they long continue; we can’t wait until the next trip.
