Whalsay runner Michelle Sandison, who lives in Glasgow, produced another exceptional performance to win the West of Scotland Cross Country Championships in Glasgow at the weekend.

She dominated a strong field of 130 athletes, winning the title for the second year running in horrendous underfoot conditions.

After the race She said: “I am so happy with that run. The field was stronger than when I won last year. That was the muddiest cross country race I have ever run.”

Sandison’s performance has guaranteed her a place in the West of Scotland team to run at the Great Edinburgh International Cross Country on 9th January.
