Power cut hits 580 premises
Almost 600 premises around Scalloway were affected by a power cut on Monday afternoon, which lasted an hour and a half.
Scottish Hydro Electric’s distribution network’s engineers were carrying out repairs to a damaged overhead line at East Houll when they turned the power off at 3pm for safety reasons and to prevent future faults.
The power to the 581 premises affected was expected to be restored by 4.30pm. Scottish Hydro Electric apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
