Celtic lifts Madrid Cup after defeat over Whalsay

Lerwick Celtic have been crowned Madrid Cup champions after defeating Whalsay 4-1 at the Gilbertson Park tonight.

Dean Guthrie showed early potential by initially putting the Bonnie Isle side ahead in the ninth minute of the game.

However a goal from Joel Bradley after 37 minutes evened the score, and a penalty kick from Shane Jamieson after 40 minutes put Celtic in the lead.

At half time the score stood at Celtic 2-Whalsay 1.

Bolstered by their first-half performance, Celtic consolidated their lead in the second half of the game.

In the 52nd minute Ryan Wood made it 3-1, while Connor Regan sealed the deal for Celtic after 84 minutes.
