SNH to hold reception event

An informal reception will be held next week by Scottish Natural Heritage, which will offer people the chance to find out about the organisation’s work in the isles.

SNH is also asking people to join in on social media by sending in their questions or comments beforehand on Twitter or Facebook.

The event is being held at Lerwick’s Islesburgh Community Centre, on Tuesday.

Ian Ross, SNH’s Chairman, will host the event along with fellow board member, Cath Denholm, and area manager, Kristin Scott.

Mr Ross said: “It’s so important for our physical and mental health to spend time outdoors, enjoying nature.

“As well as improving our health, walking and cycling means we use our cars less, helping to reduce carbon emissions. The reception will give people in Shetland the chance to talk with senior staff about these important topics, as well as the wider work of SNH.”
