Political leader will not stand for re-election

Political leader Steven Coutts has confirmed he will not stand for re-election in May.

His announcement comes on the back of today’s news that he will take over as chief executive at Cope Ltd.

Mr Coutts has been a councillor for 10 years, and political leader for the last four.

He joins convener Malcolm Bell in announcing he will stand down in May.
